New Year: Time to redo the last 12 months

Ahh New Years. With it comes resolutions and promises that I may not even remember by next December. However, I am hoping to do several things in this upcoming year that I wasn't able to accomplish last year:
- Reading through the Bible in a Year = I'm hoping this one realllly works out, my friend suggested it and we have a group of 4 of us keeping each other accountable. Praying Deuteronomy is forgiving this time...
- Reading 1-2 books per month = I used to be the child that got 30 books from the library each time she went and finished them all by the next month. Ah, sweet childhood, how I wish I had that much free time now! I hope to read a mix of Christian, fiction, and nonfiction throughout this year.
- Working out = Thanks to my God-given genes, I don't necessarily "need" to work out, but I feel much better after jogging those 2 miles (yes, go ahead and laugh, I said 2) or lifting those weights. It'll also help that Sean wants to do this, too:)
- Cooking healthier = Sean and I are going to try to eat a lot healthier. We do better than the average couple in NoVA I think, eating in much more than we eat out, and trying to find healthy recipes/ingredients. However, we're going to be trying a new "diet" - more about that in another post!
- Reach out more = If you know me, you know that initially and frequently, I'm not the most social butterfly in the bunch. I do, however, love a good conversation; it's just that my brain trips up when I try to think of something to add to the conversation if it's not directed towards only me....yeah, weird :-/ So I want to practice being more outgoing, have more lunch/coffee dates with friends, learn more topics so I don't feel so alone in a group...
- Keep a prayer journal = I've tried this in the past and failed...most of the time when I don't complete things, especially spiritual goals, it's because I lack consistency and perseverance. My goal this year is to have a dedicated journal for prayer and fill it whenever I have a request, either for me, friends, acquaintances, family, etc. Then, before I fall asleep each night, take even a few minutes to lift those things up to God.
- Create (and/or) finish one yarn project per month = I'm nowhere near starting an Etsy, like I've debated in the past, but I do like making things with yarn. Now that the winter months have finally begun (despite the 60's we have outside), I'm looking forward even more to crochet or knit little things to keep Sean, me, and others warm :)

What are your plans for 2012? Any goals from last year that you're excited about continuing? Let me know - I'm excited to hear about others' new beginnings :D
