So last year around Christmastime, Sean introduced me to a new game: Minecraft. He's been playing it since it first released and thought that someone with my OCD, er, particular skills, would love having a world to build in. Basically I have a character that's dropped into a world with trees, all sorts of natural materials (stone, iron, coal, sand, snow, etc), random animals, water, and a beautiful landscape. I can mine any of these materials and create my own things, whether I felt like making a house, a fortress, a duck pond, or even a rollercoaster (if I ever get that bored, I need a new hobby). Sean was excited to show me all these things and helped teach me how to cut down trees (don't worry, I replant saplings!) and pick at rock to get materials for my home.....
He did not mention the Mobs.
The Mobs are creatures of various forms that can and will attack my character. The ones that I've come across so far (i.e. died at the hands of) are: spiders (nice in the day, dangerous at night), skeletons (shooting arrows), zombies, creepers (hissss). They spawn in various locations of the Minecraft map and will attempt to kill my character on site.
I've enjoyed playing this game so far. I would much rather prefer if Sean were to play with me (not just mock me lol), but I'm building up courage and trying not to scream every time a green enemy shows up in the house I built:P
I'm also trying to keep up with the updates on the Minecraft Wiki, but I hadn't in the last few weeks. Just learned today that there are squids in the water now......oh geez :-/ For me, it's hard to break from a game emotionally :P
Alright, time to play a little bit more before church :)
