Time for an Update

Hello, Mrs. Rebecca here!! It's so strange thinking I've been married for 8 days today! The wedding was beautiful - if I take the time to take pictures off a USB stick, I'll post them. The weather was very cooperating; in the morning we had humidity, followed by a 15 minute downpour, then nothing but blue skies the rest of the day! There are so many aspects I want to talk about, like how my Mom panicked because it took my old roommate longer than expected to fix my hair and makeup, or how Sean and I decided last minute to not take the tandem bike into the sunset, but went for his pollen-covered car instead, or me smashing cake into Sean's face when he was being nice ;) So many memories, and so many people arrived that I didn't expect!

Sean and I have been enjoying married life! We like the idea of not having one of us drive home at 11pm to our separate homes, to wake up and have your best friend there to say good morning to...in person! Haha we joke about how much gas and text messages we'll save just because we're in the same place now - it's true! We spent the week after our wedding relaxing, goofing off in the hotel (no seriously, they have 4 glass elevators and we spent a long time trying to get them all onto the same floor...without ticking off any of the other guests!), shopping for jackets because we forgot ours, making Amish Friendship Bread, and organizing our apartment into a home. Adding my stuff PLUS all the wedding gifts has been a trial, but we have been very polite with each other while trying to make room for the essentials :)

It was really hard going back to work on Thursday, but my kids missed me! My assistant teacher had helped them make a sign for me that said "Welcome Back Mrs. Rebecca! We missed you!" or something of that nature:) They were so adorable on Thursday, but Friday they were back to their normal tricks. Next week my director decided to have parent-teacher conferences for the PreK rooms...bit torn on how to respond there: glad they're happening, but not that quickly! I had to take home 17 assessment sets to fill out on each child, how they've progressed, and match it to the papers I had them do on Friday (colors, shapes, numbers, letters, words, names) to show their progress. I am praying that all goes smoothly - I think that the teachers are supposed to share the meetings, but I don't feel comfortable doing that, so I'll be doing mine on my own (yipes!). Pray that I have a clear head, as this is the last time I meet with the parents - other than our "graduation ceremony" - about their child going into Kindergarten in the fall, whether in the Kindercare or in the school. Pray that I can clearly show parents what their child needs more of in order to enter school without fear of being behind!

Time to go get my laundry out of the car! My former landlady let me know that I could come over and do laundry anytime I needed to, so yesterday I brought over 2 Rubbermaid tubs filled with dirty laundry - yippee? I got to visit with my former housemate, Josephine, and go shopping with her, make pancakes, and watch Sherlock while the laundry did its thing. Now all I have to do is bring the tubs back into the apt - it was about 12:45 when I got home last night/this morning, so I didn't feel like toting anything in at that time!

Alright, I think I've rambled enough. Laundry - and then church! - here I come!!! :)
